The situation confronted by education today aims for an active means to cope with the changes that will occur in the future society to cultivate competent people, as the 21st century is regarded as a society of intellectual information, international communications and pluralism. Recently, the main subject of discussion has been in traditional art education within the field of educating traditional culture. Through play traditional art is understood and experienced as a living culture, simultaneously changing educational strategies to enable students to criticize and comprehend. The objective is to make traditional culture more accessible and approachable to make learning a more enjoyable experience. In doing so they are able to understand and recognize their ancestral roots in order for the culture to continue and not be severed off completely. The study focuses on elementary students in higher grades. The program aims for students to study the regional and formative distinctions found in Onggi wares. With this as the basis for the program, the research also aims to teach students the making process of the Onggi in addition to looking at surface patterns and other aesthetical aspects to create practical daily utilitarian wares. For background research, the study has examined many theses, books, articles and internet webpages on the subject. Analysis was made on the researched materials.
