The purpose of this research is to study student's narrative art education in
relation to his/her senses and perception. For this, meaning of the words, 'body'
and 'perception' are investigated with Merleau-Ponty's theory and the relationship
of meaning in narration and student is closely reviewed. Based on these, student's
narrative art education can be understood and the process of narration through
sense and perception is reexamined.
Artistic expression and art appreciation are products of an organic process
which involves sense, perception and judgement. Both sense and perception are
considered to contribute to the process of judgement and a perceptional experience
can help to create distinct narrative expression as a tool. Distinct sense of body
and perception are bound to produce unique narratives because narrative educations
is related to his/her own experiences. Therefore, perceptional process by sense as a
tool can be understood as a narrative art education.
