The purpose of this study was 1) to analyze Korean art-related textbooks for
grade 3-10(Subject: 'ART', 'ART & LIVING', 'ART THEORY') in order to
systematize its organization of the content structure of color study in preparation
for developing textbooks based in the Revised National Curriculum(2oo7), 2) to
present the contents and directions for color study, which is adequate and proper
to the newly-notified and revised standardized KS Color System (KS A 0011)
carried out by 'Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy'(MOCIE), current 'Korean
Agency for Technology and Standards' (KATS) , and 3) applicable materials(including
lesson plans for elementary, middle and high school including ppt) for color-study
instruction.
This study included that the changes of Korean Color Systems and its
naming rules until now, and the analysis of color study in elementary through
high school in Korea was done, and also surveys were conducted in order to
investigate G3-10 students' understanding and percetion on color system. At last,
in order for those who are in developing art textbooks to suggest a lesson
guideline for color study, 9 lesson plans based on color study were presented.
