현상학적 미학의 특성과 의미

본 글의 목적은 현상학적 미학의 역사를 서술하는 것이 아니라 현상학적 미학이론들이 전개되는 과정에서 드러나게 된 미학적 경험의 근본적 특징과 의미를 일차적으로 제시하는데 있다. 이를 토대로 현상학적 미학이론들이 공유한 근본적 의도와 목적을 개략적으로 밝히는데 있다. 이를 위해 논의는 미적 대상의 객관성을 어떤 방식으로 정립하려했는지의 관점에서 다양한 현상학적 미학자들의 생각과 견해를 살피는데 초점을 맞췄다. 물론 감정이나 정감적 요소인 체험의 내적 특성에 대한 분석을 제외한 이러한 제한된 시도가 현상학적 미학의 전체적 모습을 밝히기에 충분치 않다는 것은 분명하다. 그럼에도 이러한 시각에 근거해 우선 현상학적 미학이 형성하게 된 사상사적 배경, 즉 현상학 일반에 있어서의 후설의 근본의도에 대해서 그리고 반성적 계기가 된 심리학적 미학에 대해서 살피고자 한다. 그런 다음에 이러한 공통된 문제의식에서 출발한 다양한 현상학적 미학자들의 이론과 방법들을 다루고자 하는데, 단지 내용적으로 열거하지 않고 미적 대상의 구성문제와 관련한 측면들만을 검토하고자 하였다. 물론 이 논의과정에서 미적 체험과 미적 대상의 관계뿐만 아니라. 미적 대상과 예술작품의 관계에 대해서 특별히 주목해 다루었다. 끝으로 분석된 내용들을 토대로 현상학적 미학의 통일된 모습을 제시할 수는 없지만, 다양한 사상적 내용들이 어느 정도 함께 공유한 것으로 여겨지는 특성과 의도를, 즉 방법론적 특성, 미학적 경험의 고유성 제시, 그리고 인간과 세계에 대한 새로운 조망 등 세 가지를 밝힐 수 있었다.

영문초록

This paper’s main purpose is not to describe the history of phenomenological aesthetics, but above all to suggest the basic characteristics and meanings of the aesthetical experience, that are analysed by various theories of phenomenological aesthetics. Furthermore this paper would aim to explain the fundamental intention and objective, which habe been placed in them. For this, there must be the way to discuss opinions and views of several phenomenological aestheticians, e. g. Geiger, Ingarden, Dufrenne, Sartre and Merleau-Ponty, form the viewpoint, how the objectivity of the aesthetical object should be established by the aesthetical subject. However this attempt is not sufficiently to complete a general view without analysing inner moments of the aesthetical experience. Form my point of view, I will first of all explain a historical background of phenomenological aesthetics in two ways related to Husserl’s phenomenological intention and to criticism of psychological aesthetics. In the second place, various theories of phenomenological aesthetics will be analysed in according to a problem of the constitution of object. In conclusion, I will explain three meanings of phenomenological aesthetics , e. g. methodological characteristic, the peculiarity of the aesthetical experience and new perspective on the human beings and the world.
