본 연구는 지적장애학생들의 학교 졸업 이후 성인생활로의 성공적인 전환을 지원하기 위하여 요구되는 진로교육의 목표와 방법을 탐색하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하 여 본 연구는 지적장애학생들의 성인생활로의 성공적인 전환을 지원하기 위하여 요구되는 바람직 한 진로교육의 목표는 무엇이며, 효율적인 진로교육의 방법은 무엇인가라는 연구문제를 설정하고, 문헌연구를 통하여 연구문제를 해결하였다. 본 연구의 결과 지적장애학생의 진로교육 목표는 자신 의 적성과 요구에 적합한 진로를 합리적으로 선택하고 적절히 준비하여 궁극적으로 학교 졸업 이 후에 직업을 유지하면서 만족한 삶의 질을 향유하도록 하는데 있으며, 이런 목표를 달성하기 위하 여 지적장애학생의 진로교육 방법은 개별 학생의 적성과 요구에 적합한 진로계획을 적절한 자원 을 활용하여 계획적, 의도적, 체계적으로 수립?실행하는 방식으로 이루어져야 하는 것으로 밝혀 졌다. 따라서 지적장애학생의 진로교육은 학교 졸업 이후 성인생활에 성공적으로 전환하게 하는데 필수적인 교육활동이라고 할 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to explore the objective and method of career education for transition of students with intellectual disabilities. To achieve this purpose, this study selected the research question are that what is the desirable objective and effective method of career education for transition of students with intellectual disabilities and solve research question through literature review. The results are as follows; First, the objective of career education for students with intellectual disabilities is to choose career suitable for one's aptitude and needs reasonably and to prepare it appropriately so that it ultimately helps students to enjoy one's satisfaction with quality of life with keeping a job after graduating the school. Second, the method of career education for students with intellectual disabilities is to set up and carry the career plan suitable for each student's aptitude and needs deliberately, intentionally, and systematically through applying proper resources. Therefore, career education of students with intellectual disabilities is mandatory curriculum for successful transition after graduating schools.
