This study is one of the series of studies to investigate the teaching method
in Art appreciation education. The purpose of this study is to attempt to research
the conversation, based on the reciprocal teaching in terms of training, respectively
from the perspective of a teacher. The conversation taken place between the
teacher and students, among the students, has to become very dynamic and
complex. I suggest the conversation should be the center on communication taken
place in a class, especially in art appreciation classes. The conversation is
important in terms to enable the learning in a Constructivist perspective. The
theoretical background of this study is constructivism, Piaget and Vygotsky’s
theory of learning and I attempted to appreciate these problems in education.
Based on this study, I try to investigate conversation about its significance and
limit, and centered on how to listen and make the discussion in art appreciation
classes. The following is important in conversation for art appreciation education:
1) Make sure to set up the environment for interaction through the cooperation, 2)
Cognize the reciprocal teaching and the role of the teacher, and 3) Cognize the
importance of the educational conversation. It is not a common conversation,
required for teaching art appreciation class. The teacher needs awareness of
conversation in cooperative interaction. And it is important to learn the art of
conversation with the techniques of the question for teachers. It is necessary that
the teachers have a variety of educational perspective, recognize and organizational
ability through the teacher training.
