This study is examined to comparatively analyze the labor educational contents in each Social
Studies Textbook(the following is ‘SST’) at the fourth and the seventh National Curriculum able to
be classified since 1987 when the advent and change of different topics of the labor started to be
influential especially in order to understand the change and suggestion of the school-labor education
in Korea. Primarily, the results of a quantitative analysis of the labor-education contents in each of
the fourth and seventh ‘SST’ are as follows: It's confirmed that the seventh ‘SST’ has an broader
expansion more than the fourth in the aspect of diversity and quantity sphere classification of the
aim and contents for the labor-education contents. Concerning the results of qualitative analysis of the
labor-education contents are as follows; Different from the fourth, it was proved that the seventh
‘SST’ has a qualitative improvement in the Contents Depict System for the labor education, not only
as a learning pattern for delivering knowledge but also as the investigational studying by present of
the diversitic and deepen cases. However, according to the result analyzed in this study, it was found
that the labor educational contents of seventh ‘SST’ have a limit both qualitative and quantitative.
For example, the matters connected with female workers, youth workers, foreign workers, impediment
workers, and the domains connected with labor unions or a course search have been described to a
limited degree in the seventh ‘SST’. Also, regarding the aspect of quality, many problems were
found that 1) The matters of articulation of labor educational contents, 2) The matters of
appropriateness and relevance of labor educational contents, 3) The matters of possibility for study
and optimization of labor educational contents. In conclusion, it can be rightly said that, in the
seventh ‘SST’, the limits of the labor educational contents must be overcome by reconstructuring the
contents quantitatively and qualitatively for new textbook
