본 연구는 중국 연변조선족자치주의 초등학교 도덕교육의 특성을 파악하고 이를 토대로 우리나라의 도덕과 초등교육의 바람직한 발전 방향을 모색하기 위한 자료 제공에 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 한국과 중국 연변조선족자치주의 초등학교 고학년 도덕과 교육과정 및 교과서를 문헌을 통하여 자료를 수집하고 실태를 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과 기본적인 예절교육과 도덕 규범의 습관화를 도덕 교육의 수단적 목표로 삼는다는 점과 교육과정 운영체제 방식, 체험활동을 중시하는 지도방법 등에서는 공통점이 발견되었으나, 도덕과 교육과정 영역과 내용요소, 교과서의 외형체제와 단원별 지도 내용요소, 강조하여 지도하는 영역 등에서는 차이점이 있었다. 교육과정 영역을 분석한 결과 한국은 사회생활과 국가‧민족생활의 영역을 강조하고 있는 반면에 연변조선족자치주에서는 개인생활과 가정‧이웃‧학교 생활을 강조하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of moral education at elementary schools in Yanbian Korean Self-Governing District in China and provide data for seeking desirable developing direction in our moral education and primary education. To achieve the purpose, we collected data about moral education curriculum and textbooks for 5th and 6th grades at elementary schools in Korea and Yanbian Korean Self-Governing District in China through literature study and compared and analyzed actual conditions. The analysis shows common points between two systems that they take the basic etiquette education and habituation of moral rules as the target of moral education and they also have common points in curriculum management system and teaching method that values experience activities. However, there is difference between two systems in moral education course\'s scope and its\' contents, textbooks\' external system and teaching contents for each chapter, and the scope of emphasized teaching contents. The analysis of each field\'s ratio in moral education course shows that we focus on the field of social life, country and people in Korea and they focus on the field of private life and family, neighbor, and school life in Yanbian Korean Self-Governing District in China.
