The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of moral education at elementary schools in Yanbian Korean Self-Governing District in China and provide data for seeking desirable developing direction in our moral education and primary education. To achieve the purpose, we collected data about moral education curriculum and textbooks for 5th and 6th grades at elementary schools in Korea and Yanbian Korean Self-Governing District in China through literature study and compared and analyzed actual conditions.
The analysis shows common points between two systems that they take the basic etiquette education and habituation of moral rules as the target of moral education and they also have common points in curriculum management system and teaching method that values experience activities. However, there is difference between two systems in moral education course\'s scope and its\' contents, textbooks\' external system and teaching contents for each chapter, and the scope of emphasized teaching contents.
The analysis of each field\'s ratio in moral education course shows that we focus on the field of social life, country and people in Korea and they focus on the field of private life and family, neighbor, and school life in Yanbian Korean Self-Governing District in China.
