The purpose of this study was to examine the discrepancy of teacher education programs of not-teaching the subject matter and school curriculum in middle and high school. Subject-centered curricula are more adapted middle school than elementary school. The teacher in such a curriculum should be a subject-matter expert. But recently teachers of not-teaching the subject matter in middle school is increasing in number and domain. Generally curriculum of secondary school emphasize subject-matter or its content.
Types of teachers not teaching the subject-matter are nursing and librarian teachers in school. And Before long nutrition teachers will be educated and appointed.
Results are as follows. First, Introduction of system for not teaching subject matter appeared not to be valid and to have a educational purposes.
Second, Programs of not teaching subject matter had no the course of teaching in terms of student teacher.
Third, Certification of teachers of not teaching subject matter is given without distinguishing elementary school from middle school.
Forth, They have been appointed and placed in middle schools without principles or rule.
In conclusion, because students in middle and high school want the excellent subject matter teachers, we have to prevent teacher education of not teaching subject matter from being appointed in middle school.
