The purpose of this study was to understand the process of formation of social capital through the school
soccer sports club activities for elementary students. This study was conducted by in-depth interviews and
case studies. The participants were consisted of four elementary students in grade four though six who have
attended or currently participate in school sports club activities. The process of how students make social
capital through school sports clubs and how school sports clubs give affect the formation of social capital
among elementary students was investigated using one-on-one interviews. First, the results of this analysis
suggested that school soccer sports clubs give positive effects on the formation of social capital for elementary
students. According to the results, students had a chance with others by cooperating in school soccer sports
clubs to achieve a goal which needs collaboration and harmony. Through theses activities, students could
control their behavior. Furthermore, students could develop positive attitudes and trust towards teachers and
friends through sports activities. It was found that higher emotional intelligence quotient was especially
affective to bring about positive effects on the formation of social capital. Second, the process of formation of
social capital through the school soccer sports club activities was confirmed on a basis of Kohlberg's stages of
moral development. There were 7 stages of formation of social capital ; selection(first stage), punishment and
obedience(Second stage), way of needs satisfaction(third stage), harmony of personal relationship(fourth stage),
maintenance of order(fifth stage), mutual reliance(sixth stage), and confidence(seventh stage).
