The Purpose of this study is to define causal relationships among values-expectancies, self-monitering,
self-efficacy and students' effort and persistence in elementary school physical education classes. This study set
up a causal relationship model which is composed of exogeneous variables as values-expectancies and
self-monitering and endogenous variables as self-efficacy, and students' effort and persistence. The subjects are
436(boys: 202, girls: 234) elementary school students who live in G city now. This study used the
values-expectancies, self-monitering(Park and Lee, 2011), self-efficacy(Bandura, 1977) and students' effort and
persistence scale(Park, 2010) for children. By using the analysis general index, this causal model is proved
because Q=2.37, GFI=.93, TLI=.90, CFI=.92, RNSEA=.08. In analysis details index, there are significant pathe of
values-expectancy ? self-efficacy, self-monitering ? self-efficacy, values-expectancy ? persistency, self-efficacy ? persistency
