This research is based upon a story discovered during an Alternate
Drawing session. The subject is a child diagnosed with ADHD and Asperger
syndrome, who is bullied and excluded by their peers. Alternate Drawing is
commonly used to achieve rapport in art therapy. I tried to go further, and
thus proceede to a depper study of the relationship that leads to an image
created by both the therapist and the subject. The experience of Alternate
Drawing allows us to interpret the interlaced relation in the three contexts.
These are revealed in “You vs. I” “Misunderstanding vs. Reality”, “Me vs. I”
relationships. Also, it has been revealed that the drawing paper represented
the junction point between the interior and exterior dimension of Being. Thes
discovery showed us that child with ADHD, who were unable to verbalize
their feelings in the pre-communicative realm through Alternate Drawing.
Through this result, the Alternate Drawing technique allowed us to
understand the relational viewpoint of the Other, which is no other than the
reciprocal context in which the immanent object of the psychological realm is
related to the real object of the external world.
