Purpose: This study analyzed the smartphone addiction, anxiety, depression, and self-control of workers. Method: The
participants were 170 workers gathered through convenience sample method. Data were collected from November, 4 to
8, 2013 and analyzed using SPSS/PC Win 12.0 program(t-test, ANOVA, pearson correlation coefficient, stepwise multiple
regression). Results: The major findings were as follows. The mean scores of smartphone addiction, anxiety, depression,
and self-control were 33.9, 19.2, 28.4, and 70.2 respectively. Smartphone addiction scores of workers significantly differed
according to gender, age, smartphone usage time, smartphone fee, main usage function of smartphone, and satisfaction
for smartphone. Smartphone addiction and anxiety, smartphone addiction and depression showed significant positive
relationship, meanwhile smartphone addiction and self-control showed significant negative relationship. The significant
predictors of smartphone addiction were depression and self-control(20.9%). Conclusion: Therefore we should develop
intervention program to reduce anxiety and promote self-control of workers. The smartphone addiction of workers will be
prevented throughout this program.
