The purpose of this study was to develop a participatory training program for case
managers and to examine its effectiveness. The participants of this study were 114
contemporary case managers, who were assigned to either the program group (N=57) or
the control group (N=57). The evaluation of the reaction and achievement of the case
managers was carried out on the final day by a questionnaire and revealed that the
participatory training program was more efficient than a training program focused on
lectures. After the study, a difference between the two groups’ knowledge and skills of
case management existed. Furthermore, there was greater improvement in the skills of
case managers in the experimental group. Based on this result, a succession subject
related to the development and evaluation of case management training was suggested.
