이 연구에서는 영아의 성별에 따라 어떠한 하위 발달 유형이 존재하는지 확인하고, 이러한 하위 유형을 예측하는 영아의 기질적 특성과 양육방식 요인의 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널(육아정책연구소, 2010)의 1차 자료 중 발달평가 자료가 있는 만4개월 영아 총 1,610명(남=825, 여=785)을 대상으로 잠재프로파일분석(Latent Profile Analysis)을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 남아에게서는 ‘안정 발달 집단’(n=760, 92.1%), ‘대근육 의심발달 가능집단’(n=25, 3%), ‘문제해결 의심발달 가능집단’(n=40, 4.9%)이 확인되었으며, 여아에게는 ‘안정 발달 집단’(n=712, 90.7%)’, ‘보통 발달 집단’(n=55, 7%), '대근육 의심발달 지연 가능 집단’(n=18, 2.3%)이 확인되었다. 이들 집단의 구분은 영아의 정서성 기질로 유의미하게 설명되었다. 이 연구 결과는 영아의 발달을 파악할 때, 직접적으로 드러나지 않은 개인차를 활용하여 하위유형을 구분하는 접근이 유용할 것임을 시사한다. 마지막으로 정서성이 높은 고위험군 영아와 현재 정상적인 발달에 못 미치는 잠재계층에 속한 것으로 파악된 영아에게는 전반적인 발달 수준을 측정하는 심층 평가와 그에 따른 적절한 개입이 제공될 필요가 시사되었다. 본 연구의 제한점과 추후 연구에 대하여 제언하였다.

영문초록

This study attempted to identify developmental trajectories in Korean infants, and to investigate the dimensions of temperament and parental behaviors associated with the latent classes. 1,610 infants(825 males, 785 females) in 1st Panel Study on Korean Children were analysed applied with Latent Profile Analysis. The result of LPA identified 3 classes for boys: ‘stable development’(n=760, 92.1%), ‘gross motor-limited’(n=25, 3%), ‘problem-solving limited’(n=40, 4.9%) and 3 classes for girls: ‘stable development’(n=712, 90.7%), ‘average development’(n=55, 7%), ‘gross motor-limited’(n=18, 2.3%). children's emotionality predicted risky class for boys. This study found that there are notable individual differences in the development of Korean infants. Implications and limitations of this study were discussed along with the suggestions for future research.
