푸코에서 콩트로 - 프랑스 사적(史的) 인식론의 한 계보 -

푸코와 콩트의 실증주의는 근대 철학과 현대 철학 사이의 언어적 전회라 는 차이에도 불구하고, 현실주의, 과학주의 그리고 상대주의라는 세 공통분모를 갖 는다. 이러한 공통분모는 두 과학 철학자가 실증주의 인식론 단계로 결정적으로 진 입하였음을 드러낸다. 푸코에서 콩트로 거슬러 올라가는 본고의 계보학적 탐구는 단순한 현학적 ‘시원 탐구’의 수준을 넘어서는 것이다. 푸코와 하일브론도 인정하듯 이 프랑스 과학 철학의 ‘과학사적 인식론’의 전통은 콩트에서 푸코로 이어지는 것 이며, 양자를 잇는 매개는 ‘실증주의’ 개념이다. 현재 세계 철학계의 실증주의 ‘망 각’과 ‘무관심’의 상황에도 불구하고, 사태의 ‘현실성’의 ‘과학성’은 ‘실증성’을 매개 로 성립할 수밖에 없는 것이다. 뿐만 아니라, 언표의 ‘과학성’의 ‘현실성’도 ‘실증 성’을 매개로 그 권리를 주장할 수밖에 없다. 이것이 근대 이후 모든 철학적 인식 론사의 역사 근본적 명제로서 항시 전제되고 필요시마다 상기되는 것이다.

영문초록

In spite of the difference epochally limited which stems from the linguistic turn of the contemporary philosophy, in the two positivisms of Foucault and Comte, their three common denominators (realism, scientism, relativism) mark the decisive penetration into the stage of positivist epistemology of the two philosophers. This means that my actual retro-investigation from Foucault to Comte genealogically demonstrates a tradition of ‘the historical epistemology’ in the French philosophy of sciences from original Comte to Foucault via their conceptions of the positivism, beyond a level of the simple and pedantic ’research of the Origin’, as Foucault and Heilbron recognized it. Despite a global situation of ‘oblivion’ and ‘indifference’ of the positivism, it is always presupposed and occasionally recollected as a historically fundamental proposition of all the modern philosophical epistemologies that not only the ‘scientificity’ of ‘reality’ of an event is established via ‘positivity’, but the ‘reality’ of ‘scientificity’ of a statement cannot but claim its rights via ‘positivity’.
