The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of social competence enhancement program for middle school students from single-parent families on their self-efficacy and interpersonal relation ability. Participants were selected from 22 voluntary middle school students from single-parent families. Among those 20 students were randomly assigned to form an experimental group and a controlled group. The result of this study was as follows ; First, the program was proved to be effective on the enhancement of self-efficacy and interpersonal relations of middle school students from single-parent families. Secondly, the effect of the program was consistently maintained until the follow-up test, 2 months after the completion of the training program. The Social Competence Enhancement Program for this study was proved to be effective to improve self-efficacy and interpersonal relations of middle school students from single-parent families.
