This study is to assist social welfare students in becoming more powerful and influential social workers and develop the training programs for social welfare students in social welfare institutions, using the empowerment intervention theory. In details, this study developed the program for empowerment of intern social workers and verified the efficiency of that program. This study used various methodologies to verify the efficiency and among those, there were modified tool of measurement for participants, each goal evaluation, opinion letter evaluation, and program evaluation.
The results of this study are summarized as
(1) There was one significant improvement in empowerment of intern social workers resulting from the pretest and posttest verification of experimental group and comparison group. In details, we can find the big improvements in the areas of social work knowledges and skill, self-efficacy and influence.
(2) There was one significant improvement in the areas of individual strengths and resource perception, which is one of the major factor in empowerment, by the pretest and posttest verification
(3) The averaged satisfaction in four parts, which are program operation satisfaction, self growth satisfaction, other participants relationship satisfaction, and leader satisfaction, is very high as 87%. And, the averaged satisfaction for 17 detailed program is also very high as 85%.
(4) In each goal evaluation, the achievement rate is very high at posttest, which showed that most of participants achieved their goals and become empowered. Specially, in applying what has been learned after posttest to the real, the participants with the past experiences had the high individual achievement rates.
It is concluded that the this training program for intern social workers shall have significant influences on empowering the social welfare students.
