This study finds its value in inquiring into suggestions from the precedent researches to the disabled old, and exploring the programs socially supported available to the scene of the welfare of the old people staying at home. Park, Yeong-joo\'s study(2001) showing social support for the old is an important factor in reducing a feeling of helplessness, indicated that in correlation of a feeling of helplessness and social support, the higher support for self-esteem and feelings, the lower the old\'s feeling of helplessness. Also social support is very significant in the old age\'s adaptation, while the subjective and objective aspects of social support have different effects(Kim, Weon-gyeong, 2001). In the study of the effect on the disabled old\'s life satisfaction(Lee, Ik-seop et. al, 2001), thei life satisfaction level was generally low, and their families\' emotional support has an affirmative effect it. Also through the research findings, the families\' emotional support relieves the negative effects of economic problems on the disabled old\'s life satisfaction. In other words, frequent emotional support reduced stressful effect(economic problems), but less emotional support decreased life satisfaction counting on the effect of stressful factors. This study will explore cross-sectional findings related to the old\'s livelihood so far, and review the effects of social support on the old, and consider social support programs for the disabled old people.
