This research examines a new concept, physical restraint to the quality of life and quality of care in nursing homes. It goes on to seek he staff perceptions on the use of physical restraint in nursing facilities for the aged, especially focused on senile dementia. The data were collected using questionnaires and analysed using statistical methods.
The study showed that nursing staff perceived 7 questions among 12 questions on restraint use and 6 questions could not. The tests revealed that there were statistically significant differences in nursing staff’s perception: gender, age, type of occupation.
