The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of play program utilizing Traditional Children’s
Song on change of early childhood’s musical attitude and musical ability and its educational effect. For
these, carried out the pre-test, the experimental treatment and post-test on five year olds 40 children,
divided by 20 children in experimental and control groups, in the child care center in a district of the
D-si. The experimental treatment was applied by performing the Traditional Children’s Song activity twice
a week for 8 weeks. For analyzing the data, using SPSS 20.0 looked into the mean and standard
deviation and performed the analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) to compare the differences between test
type(pre and post) and group type(experimental, control). According to the study, the experimental group
who performed the Traditional Play Children’s Song exhibited a statistically significantly higher scores in
musical attitude and musical ability. That the experimental group conducted the Traditional Play Children’s
Song activity has improved overall musical attitudes including musical exploration, expression and
appreciation more than the control group. Second, the Traditional Play Children’s Song activity gave a
positive impact on the children’s musical ability and improved pitch and rhythmic sense both sub-elements
of musical ability. On the basics this results, recommendations for future study were suggested.
