본 연구는 국내 시각장애에 관한 논문들에 나타난 연구 경향을 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 국 내에서 시각장애와 관련된 논문들을 전문적으로 다루는 학술지인 “시각장애연구”에서 최근 3년(2011년 -2013년) 동안 발표된 96편의 논문들을 검토하였다. 본 연구에서는 시각장애 연구의 주제별ㆍ변인별 논의들이 어떻게 이루어져 왔는지에 대하여 다루었다. 연구 주제들은 8개의 주제들로 분류되었다. 이러한 주제들 가운데 상위 3개 주제들의 비중이 지나치게 높게 나타나고 있었으며 특히 교육에 대한 연구들이 많이 이루어지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 연구 변인들에 있어서는 연구대상, 장애유형, 연구방법에 대하여 논의하였다. 연구대상에 있어서는 학령기 학생들에 대한 연구가 성인이나 학령기 이전의 아동과 비교하 여 많은 비중을 차지하고 있었으며, 장애유형의 경우에는 시각중복장애만을 다루는 경우는 6편에 불과하 였다. 연구방법의 경우에는 조사연구를 통한 연구들이 가장 많았으며, 전체적으로는 양적인 연구방법을 사용한 경우가 많음을 알 수 있었다.
This study attempted to explore research trend on domestic research trend related to visual impairment. For the purpose of the study, I reviewed 96 articles published in “The Korean Journal of Visual Impairment” during recent 3 years(2011-2013). This study addressed discussions according to theme and variable in research on visual impairment. Research topics were divided as 8 themes. The three themes in high ranks were excessively handled among themes, and in particular, articles on education were discussed a lot. Variables of research were related to research subjects, the types of disability, and research methods. Regarding on research subjects, articles on school age students were more discussed than adults or children before school age. Related to the types of disability, there were only 6 articles about visual impairments with other disabilities. In case of research methods, articles through a study were most often, quantitative research methods were generally used.
