이 연구는 시각중복장애인 고등교육 프로그램에 대한 요구를 알아봄으로써, 시각중복장애인 고등교육 기반 구축을 구축하고 관련 정책을 개발하는데 도움이 될 기초 자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위 해 전국의 13개 시각장애 특수학교 교사 157명과 시각중복장애 학생 및 졸업생 부모 158명의 설문조사 결과를 분석하였으며 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사와 부모는 시각중복장애인을 위한 고등교육 프 로그램을 제공할 경우 대부분 참여할 것이고, 이 프로그램을 통해 일상생활기술을 가장 발달시킬 수 있 을 것으로 기대하며, 고등교육이 교사의 경우 2년, 부모의 경우 4년 동안 이루어지기를 원하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 고등교육 운영에 대한 교사와 부모의 요구를 분석한 결과 교육형태는 기능+교양+교과 중심교육, 거취형태는 가정에서의 통학, 기숙사 형태는 2인 1실, 관련 전문가 구성은 직업재활사, 졸업학 위형태는 수료증+학점인정, 학비부담은 정부지원이 가장 높은 순위를 차지하였다. 셋째, 희망하는 고등교 육 프로그램의 6개 대영역은 직업능력향상교육과 문화예술교육을 가장 선호하는 것으로 나타났고, 18개 중영역은 여가스포츠 프로그램과 기초자립생활 프로그램을 가장 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 토대로 시각중복장애인 고등교육 기반 구축 방안에 대하여 논의하였다.
This study was implemented to investigate needs of teachers and parents on higher education for people with visual impairments and other disabilities. The actual purpose of this study is to suggest ideas to develop the basics of higher education for people with visual impairments and other disabilities. For this study, a nationwide survey was conducted with 157 teachers at schools for the blind as well as 158 parents of students and graduates with people with visual impairments and other disabilities. The followings are the results. First, more than 80% of teachers and parents have interests on higher educations for people with visual impairments and other disabilities. They believe higher education will improve their independent living skills most. Teachers hope for 2-year college education program for them. On the other hand, parents expect the 4-year program most. Second, those two groups want that the formation of education will be consist of three main areas including functional training, liberal arts and subject matters. Third, they prefer the vocational program and cultural art program out of 6 large areas in life-long education and recreational sports program and basic independent living program out of 18 medium level areas. Based on those results, the suggestions were presented finally.
