The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception on the right of
person with disabilities and the influence on the personality of university
students who experienced integrated education from elementary to high school in
the long term, and to find the effectiveness and future directions of integrated
education. For this purpose, we selected 15 university students with experience
integrated education at individual school levels from elementary to high school.
To select these participants and investigation inquiry we conducted study in
advance aimed at 200 university students attend 3 teacher training institutes.
Finally, an in-depth interview targeting 15 university students was implemented.
The results were showed in the point of educational equality, educational
participation, and human dignity. First, through educational neglect in the
integrated classroom, almost the whole students experience the legitimacy of
discrimination and worthlessness toward students with disabilities. Second, on
account of educational environment, the general students as well as students
with disabilities responded the lack of opportunity and right of communication
and self determination. Specially, students with disabilities have no friends,
opponents, and methods of desires’ expression. Third, almost the whole students feel sense of guilt, shame owing to lethargy and indifference
disregarding bullying. Therefore the unprepared integrated education cause
problems as regression of a sense of human right and personality, the
disappointment on school system including teachers.
In conclusion, this study suggested the ways to improvement of integrated
education, a sense of human right on a person with disabilities and personality of
general students in integrated education environment based on the results of this
study.
