본 연구의 목적은 통합된 죽음준비교육 프로그램이 신체장애노인의 죽음에 대 한 태도(정서적 불안, 인지적 수용, 행동적 반응)와 삶의 의미에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 비동일 통제집단 전후비교조사를 통해 통합된 죽음준비교육 프로그램이 신체장애노인의 죽음에 대한 태도와 삶의 의미에 미치 는 효과를 양적으로 측정하고, 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 통해 프로그램의 양적 효과 를 설명해 줄 수 있는 프로그램과정에서의 경험을 질적 자료로 수집하고 해석한 혼합설계방법을 적용하였다. 연구결과 양적, 질적 분석 모두에서 통합된 죽음준 비교육 프로그램이 신체장애노인의 죽음에 대한 태도와 삶의 의미 변화에 의미 있는 영향이 있음이 나타났다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 신체장애노인을 대상으로 한 통합된 죽음준비교육 프로그램을 운영, 개발할 때 필요한 제언을 하였다.
This study has the purpose of verifying the effect of ‘integrated death preparation program’ for disabled elderly on their attitude towards death(emotional anxiety, intellectual acceptance, behavioral response) and meaning of life. The quantitative part of this mixed-method study utilized pre- and post-test comparison of experimental and control group on their attitude towards death and meaning of life. The qualitative part of this study utilized focus group interviews with participants from the experimental group. The findings from both quantitative and qualitative analysis show that the implemented integrated death preparation program had a meaningful influence on participants’ attitude towards death and meaning of life. Based on the findings, practice implications on program development and implementation were discussed.
