The purpose of this study was to investigate research trends about science teachers'
professionalism through the review of articles published from 2005 to 2014 in Korea. The total 67
articles were chosen by key words(science teacher, professionalism) from databases of Korean
Studies Information Service System and RISS and analyzed by classification framework, such as
purpose of study(definition, survey of actual condition, development of professionalism), methodology
of study(qualitative, quantitative, and mixed research), school level of subject of study(elementary,
secondary teacher) etc. The results of this study were as follows: Field diagnosis and actual
condition about professionalism of teachers occupied the most weighted proportion on purpose of
study. The most applied methodology was qualitative research, and it was followed by quantitative
research and mixed research. Most of subjects of study were secondary school teachers. Based on
results of this study, characteristics of research trends of professionalism and implications for
further research of teachers' professionalism in Korea were discussed.
