The purpose of this study is to draw design for the establishment and operation of an
ICT-based future eiementary-secondary school. This study is a preliminary step to offer
implication of teacher education required for an ICT-based future school. In order to
accomplish the purpose, this study explores the background of an ICT-based future school
and provides design for an ICT-based future elementary, middle, high School using the
delphi method. This researcher drew Questionnaires for delphi survey through the expert
conference, conducted two times of delphi survey for 28 expert panels so as to verify
validity, confirmed key domains on design for ICT-based future school finally through the
revision and supplementation. The result of this study, ICT-based future school have the
characteristics as follows.
First, the design of future elementary school introduces life-long learning system reflecting
the feature of the future society, which includes domestic market downturn related to the
infant and child caused by population decline and the rapid entry of an aging society,
reduction of economic activity and skilled workforce and aging, and reduction in the
school-age population. Second, the design of future middle school reflects school’s change
with the expansion of global culture in all countries including Korea thanks to the
development of science and technology and with acceleration into a multicultural society.
Third, the design of future high school reflects future society and school with increase the
inflow of foreigners and muticultural students, responds to changes in occupation and the
living conditions, and pursues education that allows you to understand people with different
opinions and background and collaborate with them. So, ICT-based future school drawn in
this study should be applied as basic data for a preliminary step to prepare to build and
run an ICT-based future school.
