Contemporary poetry these days shows different aspects compared to poetry in the past which focused on the type of poetry for singing and reciting or invoking sentimentalism and abstract thought. Considering these differences, various expressive devices have been adopted, such as, the development of parallel placement of images through depaysement, the intervention of coincidental image through automatism, the production of imaginary beauty through the unfamiliar device of metaphor, the diffusion of sentimental beauty through objective correlative, or the propagandism of poetry language through the montage method. In this context, tension in poetry that is proposed by A. Tate becomes a core component in evaluating literature value as well as creating and appreciating poetry. However, the power of creating this tension is based on the application of object poetry language, such as, making poetic tensions with a distance image, making an abstract concept visible with an imaginary image, or expressing with creative poetic expression. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine the expressive characteristics of object poetry language which is applied with various expressive methods in contemporary poetry and identify the aspects of the tension in poetry, and to understand contemporary poetry and the meaning of esthetics. In addition, through discussing this issue, it is suggested that expressive approach related to creative education can be helpful in promoting creative education and poetry appreciation.
