The purpose of this study is to analyze teen court and to derive meaning from core competencies of social studies. The teen court is an autonomy program that sets the rules for school life and imposes educational penalties. This is related to improving student legal consciousness, awareness of legal procedures and improving student autonomy. In order to improve problematic behavior, a student counsel and prosecutors review cases of violation of the rules based on relevant evidence and discuss ways to resolve them. The jury discuss on the basis of the counsel's and prosecutor's arguments to determine the appropriate educational path for the student. Discussion and debate based on actual cases of violations of school rules are based on students' cognitive development. The contextual context can lead to enhanced interest and an increase in voluntary participation. This is similar to the jury debate where the supporting and opposing teams refute each other through argument and cross examination. But in the jury debate, the jury is limited to deciding whether to accept or decline the debate, while the jury members in the teen court play a key role in deriving rational solutions through discussion. This can contribute to creative thinking, critical thinking, problem solving ability and decision making ability, communication and collaboration ability and information literacy. These are presented as core competencies of social studies in the 2015 revised curriculum.
