The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of intervention for self-determination in students with disabilities through a meta analysis. Among many articles published between 2000 and September 2012 from RISS, KISS and DBpia in Korea, 19 studies was conducted to determine methodological data, 40 research variables, using MS Excel 2007, Sigmaplot 8.0 program.
The overall effect size for self-determination intervention was 1.444, large and positive effect. Variables that lead to the most effective intervention was pervasive developmental disorders, 50~100 participants, middle school, clinic, 1~1.5 hours, 10~30sessins, adaptive behavior and sociality. Based on this results, the implication for intervention for self-determination was discussed, and future study issues were recommended.
