유아는 주변에서 발생 하는 다양한 문제 상황들을 수학적으로 해결하고 이를 실생활에 적용함으로써 주변을 이해하고 나아가 자신의 삶을 더욱 합리적이고 편리하게 살아갈 수 있게 된다. 그러기 위해서 유아는 수학적 소양을 갖추어서 일상생활의 문제 상황에서 유아 자신의 수학적 능력을 활용하여 문제를 해결할 수 있는 능력을 배양해야 한다. 하지만 모든 유아들은 일상생활 속에서 수학적인 경험을 충분히 갖고 있으나 아직 머릿속에 조직되어 있지는 않다. 이런 수학적인 경험들을 조직할 수 있고, 그 안에서 여러 가지 수학적 관련성을 얻어낼 수 있도록 도와주어야 한다.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of integrated math-activities using fairy tale on the development of young children\'s mathematical concept and their ability of solving mathematical problems. To achieve the above objectives, the specific problems were formulated as follows: (1) what do the integrated math-activities using fairy tale have effects on the development of young children\'s mathematical concept? (2) what do the integrated math-activities using fairy tales have effects on young children\'s mathematical problem-solving ability? (3) what is the changes in young children\'s mathematical concepts and mathematical problem-solving ability through the process of integrated math-activities using fairy tale? The result of this study is as follows: (1)When compared to the control group, a meaningful change was detected in the first post-test on the young children (experimental group) who experienced the integrated mathematical activities using fairy tale. Second post-test on the experimental group also showed the continual improvement. (2)Experimental group who experienced the integrated mathematical activities using fairy tale showed the improved ability in solving mathematical problems.(3) Through the process of the integrated mathematical activities using fairy tale, children could enhance their understanding of mathematical concept and ability of solving problems.
