The purpose of this study was to develop a group counselling program for the offended spouse abusers and to test its effectiveness. For to achievement of the purpose, a integrated intervention program was formulated under the ecological theory with the psycho-dynamic model, the psychosocial model, and the systems model which provide the adequate explanations of the causes of spouse abuses. The participants of the developing program were those who sentenced to the counselling care because of the offence of the special law of prevention of domestic violences and their spouses with their approval to participate. Two groups were formed, Group I was consisted of offenders only and Group II of offenders and their spouses. All of them were 20 people aged from 28 to 62yrs. The program had 16 sessions with 3 hours every week. The results showed the significant differences in the effectiveness between the two groups; Group II showed the more effectiveness than Group I in reducing depression and improving controlling behaviors of conflicts and violences, and all participants showed improved influences in reducing depression and aggression and improving controlling behaviors. Therefor, this developed program was proved out effective to both the group of the offenders and the group of the group of the offenders and their spouses and more effective in Group II.
