대학에 재학 중인 시각장애 학생들이 가장 시급하게 지원되길 바라는 것은 다양한 형태의 학습자료다. 현재, 시각장애인을 위한 교재는 확대 묵자, 점자, 녹음, 컴퓨터용 파일 형태가 대다수다. 여기에 새로운 형태의 교재를 제작할 수 있는 도구가 개발되었다. ‘보이스아이’라 불리는 이 제품은 일반 묵자 교재의 페이지별 내용을 작은 크기의 바코드에 저장하고 특정 도구를 사용하여 그 정보를 읽을 수 있게 하여 시각장애인과 정안인이 함께 학습할 수 있는 통합교육용 교재를 제작할 수 있는 장점을 보유하고 있다. 본 연구는 통합교육 환경에서 시각장애인을 위한 새로운 형태의 교재제작 방안을 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 시각장애인용 교재의 종류 및 비교분석을 바탕으로 시각장애인을 위한 통합교육용 교재의 요건을 도출했다. 도출된 요건을 기준으로 보이스아이를 활용한 교재의 만족도를 평가하고 보이스아이를 활용한 교재 개발사례 분석을 통하여 보이스아이를 활용한 교재제작 방안과 보이스아이의 개선방향을 제시하는 순으로 진행되었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로, 다양한 분야에서 보이스아이를 활용한 교재가 제작되고 보급되어 시각장애인을 위한 통합교육환경의 선결과제가 다소 해결될 것으로 기대한다. 또한, 보이스아이가 조기에 업그레이드되어 보다 발전된 형태의 통합교육용 교재개발을 촉진할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
There are four types of study material for the visually impaired students. They are magnified silent letter, braille, recorded voice, and computer file. The most desired support for the visually impaired students to study in the full inclusive education environment is to provide various type of study materials. The Voiceye developed by AD I&C co. in 2004 can fulfill the needs. The Voiceye can produce a bar code symbol contained lots of information, so that a new type of study material can be produced. As the study material produced by the Voiceye consists of silent letters and bar code symbols as well, both the visually impaired students and the normal students can study together with the same study material. The purpose of this study is to propose a new scheme of the study material production using Voiceye for the visually impaired students in the full inclusive education environment. The approach of this study consists of four steps. Firstly, the four type of study materials for the visually impaired are compared with the viewpoints of the three requisites; accessibility, reading efficiency, convenience. As a result of it, the requisites of the study material for the visually impaired students are derived. Secondly, the requisite fulfillment of the study material using the Voiceye is deduced. Thirdly, the case of the study material production using the Voiceye is investigated. Finally, the new scheme of the study material production using the Voiceye and the upgrade scheme of the Voiceye are proposed on the basis of the above study results.
