본 연구의 목적은 장애관련 그림책에 나타나는 장애인관을 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 문헌 조사와 인터넷 검색을 통해 28권의 유아를 위한 그림책을 선정하였다. 장애인관을 분석하기 위해 장애인물의 특성, 인물의 발달 수준, 주제 분석을 하였고 이러한 분석의 근거는 관련 문헌의 연구를 토대로 하였다. 유아용 그림책에 나타난 장애인물의 특성은 첫째, 다양성의 차원에서 다양한 외모와 능력 등을 가지고 있는 것으로 묘사되고 있었고 둘째, 다름의 차원에서 비장애인과 다른 정서, 외모, 능력, 행동 등을 나타내는 것으로 묘사되고 있었다. 셋째, 장애인물은 장애로 인한 상황과 장애의 극복을 개인적 차원에서 노력해야 하는 존재로 묘사되고 있었다. 유아용 그림책의 인물 발달 수준 및 주제 분석에서 나타난 장애인에 대한 시각은 첫째, 개인적 책임/사회적 책임의 장애인관과 둘째, 본질적/현상적 차원에서 바라보는 장애인관이었다. 본 연구의 결과는 바람직한 장애인을 형성을 지원하기 위한 교육적 매체로서 그림책을 선정하는 데에 선정의 근거를 제시할 것으로 기대된다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the concept of the people with disabilities who appeared in the picture books. In order to do this, we reviewed the related literature and searched internet bookstores and then selected 28 picture books for early childhood. For analyzing the concept of the people with disabilities, we analyzed the characteristic of handicapped characters, the developmental level of character and themes. The basis of analysis was constructed through reviewing of the related literature The results, first the people with disabilities were described in aspects of the diversity, especially the appearance and ability were included in this. Second, the people with disabilities were described in aspects of the difference, especially the emotion, appearance, ability and action were included in this. Third, they were the existence that had individually to effort for overcoming some problems. The point of views of the people with disabilities of showing through the developmental level of character and themes were first the concept of individual responsibility/ social responsibility and second naturel/ phenomenal aspects.
