The Caldecott Medal is widely recognized as an award that arouses multi-cultural awareness in
worldwide because the subject of Caldecott books for the most part is about understanding of
multi-culture and other people. On account of this characteristic Caldecott books has been finely
re-presented with diverse media in new and unique ways. Caldecott Medal and Honor books that are
constructed with repetition and predictable sentence which promote children’s language development
would provide instructive experiences for children when they are applied for children with an integrated
teaching approach regarding the whole language. Therefore, this study presents the analysis and
educational application with Caldecott books in 2006 as follows; First, the plot and analysis of Caldecott
books in 2006; Second, integrated plan and case study to preschool curriculum with The Hello, Goodbye
Window, which won Caldecott Medal in 2006. In conclusion, this study suggested that the application
of 2006 Caldecott books in early childhood education helps learning experiences, especially for creativity
and language development of young children.
