Edutainment is a form of entertainment designed for education as well as for amusement. Edutainment typically seeks to instruct or socialize its audience by embedding lessons in some familiar forms of entertainment: television programs, computer and video games, films, music, websites, multimedia software, etc. Educational media is considered to be \"edutainment\" where learner actively play in engaging environments and learning in the process. The effect of edutainment depends on adequate use of entertainment and education. A development of digital media makes learner use interactive media actively. Existing edutainment content in virtual world takes advantage of simple flash mini-games like a quiz game. In this situation, learning process concerned about educational side makes learner lose interest in learning process.
To improve effect of education and immersion, education content has an essential thing about motivation of learning and a process where motivation of learning is effectively originated. This study focused on fostering simulation game of edutainment content in virtual world. Fostering simulation game is system for immersion of virtual world and makes users foster characters, so users are spontaneously immersed in fostering and learning process.
To develop educational virtual world in the future, this study argues that fostering simulation game in educational virtual world is essential thing to connect educational content with entertainment content and that production of various contents inducing educational motivation is important.
