현재 MB 정부가 지향하는 교육정책의 기본 방향은 지식 정보화·세계화 시대에 쟁력 강화를 위한 자율과 경쟁의 확대라고 요약해 볼 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 교육 자율화 방안은 대학 교육 경쟁력의 강조, 입시정책의 자율화, 학교 선택권의 등의 정책을 통해 구체화되고 있다. 그동안의 지나친 규제 일변도의 교육 정책들은 어야 하겠지만, 정부의 교육 개혁 방안으로서의 자율화 정책이 교육적으로 의미으로 시행되기 위해서는 이에 관련된 쟁점과 과제에 대한 교육철학적 성찰이나 수적이라고 할 수 있다. 이에 대한 교육철학적 성찰이나 반성 없이 이루어지는 정책교육의 공공성을 훼손시키는 등의 또 다른 문제에 직면함으로써 그 교육적 힘을 휘하기 어렵게 될 가능성이 있기 때문이다. 본 논문은 MB 정부의 교육 자율화 정책에 된 쟁점과 과제를 교육철학적으로 고찰해 보고자 하는 하나의 시도로서, 교육 자율화에 관련된 쟁점과 과제를 교육의 자율성 확대와 공공성 확보, 학교 선택권의 확대와 기본 틀의 유지 및 보완, 그리고 경쟁력 중심의 논리와 교육의 본질에 대한 성찰를 중심으로 논의하고 있다.
Philosophy of education should be providing the vitality that enables each field of education to realize its responsibility for the betterment of present educational as well as social situation in such a way that educational practice in our society contributes to the educational justice and humanization of our social practice. The primary task of philosophy of education is to contribute to the betterment of educational practice as well as social reality. Philosophy of education should take charges for overcoming the confusion of the conceptions and norms related to the educational policy. And philosophy of education should be responsible for the orientation of the educational policy through building up the ideal of the educated person as well as the purpose of education. Also, philosophy of education should be answerable to the concepts of the autonomy of members of education to the degree that every member of education enjoys the quality of education. Indeed, without the effort of philosophy of education, we will fail to develop the educational policy which contribute to the enlargement of the autonomy of education to the degree that every member in education enjoys the quality of education. The enlargement of the autonomy of education for each member of education is the essential part of the whole picture of the society in 21 century. Thus, the policy of education should be aware of the issue and task facing the situations of the educational practice and social necessity in present as well as future.
