This research explored the effect of group art therapy combined with Rational Emotive Behavior
Therapy(REBT) on improving job stress and resilience of teachers for young children with disabilities. A
sample of 24 teachers was randomly placed in two groups, including one experimental group and one
control group. This was followed by group art therapy combined with REBT while teachers in the
experimental group were conducted for 10 sessions over 1-2 times a week, 90~100 minutes for one session.
The preliminary research was carried out before implement this study to investigate appropriacy of
program. To verify the change of the program, modified job stress & resilience scale was measured pre-and
post-test. It was analysed by comparing the art work and change of teachers on interview record for young
children with disabilities every session. The gathered data were analysed using homogeneity check about
pre-test, repeated measures ANOVA(Analysis of Variance) through the SPSS Package. The result was as
follows. Job stress of the experimental group decreased more than that of the control group, and resilience
of the experimental group improved more than that of the control group. The results showed that the
group art therapy combined with REBT was effective on job stress and resilience of teachers for young
children with disabilities.
