We are experiencing many environmental problems. Climate change is one of the most
serious problems. The purpose of this study is to explore a possibility of climate change education
in elementary school. We analyze climate change and the influence of climate change, then we
propose the appropriate subject for climate change education after analyzing the science textbooks
under the 2007 Revised National Curriculum. With literature reviews, we discuss the level of
climate change education and its direction in elementary school. Results demonstrate that both
direct and indirect experiences are relevant enough to make environmental awareness and attitudes.
It is suggested that education need to be age appropriate in which students, have overall understanding
of climate change problems through students-initiated conversation, positive thinking
about solving the problem, and taking action to solve it.
