본 연구는 초등학교 교과서 에너지 단원에 나타난 탐구 활동과 시각 자료에 대한 다각적 분석을 목적 으로 한다. 2007개정 교육과정의 초등학교 과학교과서의 6학년 에너지를 다룬 단원을 대상으로 탐구 활동의 유형뿐 아니라, 탐구 기본 요소인 문제인식, 자료수집, 논리적 사고과정, 비판적 사고 과정, 발표 및 정당화로 나누어 분석을 하였다. 또한 탐구 활동의 목표, 활동내용, 사고내용, 논리적 구조를 분석하였다. 해당 단원에 제시된 시각자료의 기능 분석도 실시하였다. 에너지 단원의 탐구 활동 및 시각자료의 분석을 통해 향후 에너 지 교육을 위한 교과서의 탐구 활동의 구조에 대한 논의도 함께 하였다.
This study aimed to analyze energy related inquiry activity and visual materials in elementary textbook. This research intended to analyze the inquiry activities of the area of energy in a science textbook of the sixth grade developed by the revised 2007 curriculum in terms of inquiry elements including making problems, data collection, logical thinking process, critical thinking process, and presentation and justification. The purpose, hands-on activity, minds-on activity, and logical structure of target science activities were investigated as well as types of inquiry. The visual materials were also examined in terms of its function in the target unit. Based on results of analyzing inquiry activity and visual materials, how to construct inquiry activity for effective energy education was discussed.
