Focusing on that community dance for the design of life after retirement allows the baby-boomgeneration in Korea to prepare for the mass retirement syndrome, discover the meaning of life, and encourage them to recognize the importance of the will to pursue new values in life, this program aimed to organize a platform in which those who are soon to retire and find themselves in the similar age- and job-related conditions can share individual problems after retirement and recognize the loss of existence as an individual due to social alienation as part of the process in life. It also aimed to offer them the opportunity to observe and search for the independent life after retirement and breaking away from social roles and responsibilities, and to recover the self-awareness and self-observation as an individual being through dance. This program surveyed the social, cultural and ideological aspects of the baby-boom generation, examined the changes they would experience after the imminent retirement based on “A Journey to Discover Another Self” as its theme.
