본 연구에서는 교직과목 중 하나인 ‘교육방법 및 교육공학’ 수업 시간에 ‘유아교육에서의 교수설계’라는 주제로 개념도와 반성적 저널을 작성하도록 함으로써 유아교육과 교직과목의 연계 학습을 도모하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 해당 과목을 수강하는 4년제 유아교육과 3학년 학생 37명이 작성한 개념도와 반성적 저널을 분석하고, 이들이 경험한 교육적 효과와 어려움 을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 학생들의 개념도와 반성적 저널은 4가지 유형 - 1) 자기생각 중심형, 2) 내용정리형, 3) 적용중심형, 4) 비판적 통합형 - 으로 분류할 수 있었다. 개념도 및 반성적 저널 작성 활동의 교육적 효과로는 유아교육과 교육공학의 연계성 파악, 체계적 지식 구성, 교수설계에 대한 자신감, 메타인지 활성화가 나타났으며, 활동 수행에서 나타난 어려움으로는 유아교육과 교육공학 지식 이해 부족, 유아교육과 교육공학의 주요 내용간 관계 이해의 혼란 스러움이 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 유아교육과 교직과목 연계를 위한 방안으로 개념도와 반 성적 저널이 유의미하게 활용될 수 있음을 확인하는 한편, 이를 보다 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 전략을 제안하였다.
This study investigated the students' activity of creating concept maps with reflective journals about 'instructional design in early childhood education' for understanding connections between early childhood education and 'educational methods and technology' as a teaching professional subject. The concept maps and the reflective journals written by 37 junior students in a 4-year college, and perceived educational effects and challenges were analyzed. As a result, the concept maps with reflective journals were categorized into four types: 1) self-thought oriented type, 2) summary oriented type, 3) application oriented type, 4) critical integration type. The students perceived understanding connections between early childhood education and educational methods and technology, systematic knowledge construction, confidence of instructional design, and active meta-cognition as the educational effects. The students had difficulty in constructing concept maps with reflective journals because of lack of understanding of early childhood education and educational technology. In addition, as different terms and approaches are used in early childhood education from educational technology, it was hard for the students to figure out connections between two areas. This study showed the potential to use concept maps with reflective journals for improvement of understanding connections between early childhood education and teaching professional subjects, and suggested effective instructional strategies for this activity.
