This study was designed to investigate the differences of young children's temperaments
in the cultural of Korea and Indonesia.
The subjects for this study consisted of 3-6 year old children from kindergartens located
in Seoul, Korea and Jakarta, Indonesia. This includes 300 children and their parents from
four kindergartens in downtown Seoul and another 300 in Indonesia. The statistical analyses
related to the proposed problems and the SPSS Win 17.0 Program t-test, ANOVA, and
re-verified sheffe were used in testing differences The findings of this study were as follows:
First, the adaptability in a young child's temperament had no significant differences
between the two countries.
The activity of Indonesians was higher than Koreans. There were significant differences
between the two countries.
The physiological regulation of Koreans was higher than Indonesians. These were also
significant differences
Second, lets look at a young child temperament, In Indonesia, there's no difference
between girls and boys and Korean boys are more adaptability and activity than Korean
girls.
The reactions of Korean girls are higher than boys. Therefore, as a result, Korean girls
and boys should be raised with need of nurture to be adapted to their new surrandings
temselves well and to be able to handle in many different kinds of situations actively while
being independent
