본 논문은 세계화시대와 다문화사회로의 변화에 따라 교원양성기관에서 글로벌 역량 및 국제화 강화를 위해 실시하고 있는 예비교원의 해외 현장경험을 총 7가지 유형으로 분석하였다: 해외 교육실습, 해외 한국(국제)학교, 해외 전공·교육현장 탐방, 해외 인턴십, 해외 교육개발협력 및 봉사, 교환학생, 어학연수. 또한 각 교원양성기관별 해외 현장경험의 특성을 살펴보고, 해외 현장경험 유형을 국제화의 기회, 도전, 위험 측면에서 시사점을 살펴보았다. 해외 현장경험의 필요성을 통해 예비교원의 글로벌 역량 함양이 필요하며, 교원양성기관에서 이러한 역량을 배양시킬 수 있는 제도 및 정책을 보다 적극적으로 고려해야 함을 제안하였다.
Understanding the changes in society toward globalization, teacher education institutions try to strengthen the global competencies for preservie teachers. As a part of efforts to reflect the global movement, teacher education institutions have been implemented field experiences overseas programs. The study aimed to analyze the contents and characteristics of the programs focusing on the aspects of opportunities, challenges, and risks of globalization. As a result, the seven types of the field experience were presented: practicum overseas, practicum in Korean school overseas, observation of practice and experiences of major area overseas, teaching internship overseas, practicum and volunteer in developing country, exchange program, and language practice abroad. It also suggested that the field experience overseas would be critical for preservice teacher to prepare for the global competencies, therefore, the teacher education institutions need to be considered the programs and policies to develop the global competencies for preservice teachers.
