This study investigated teaching perspectives of teachers at elementary and secondary schools in Soeul, Korea. The study used the TPI (Teaching Perspectives Inventory) developed by Dan Pratt and john Collins. The TPI consisted of 45 items questionnaire to express five different teaching perspectives; transmission, apprenticeship, developmental, nurturing, and social reform. These five teaching perspectives are translated based on respondents' action, intention, and beliefs in teaching and learning. This study assessed the teaching perspectives of school teachers and compared teaching perspectives based on respondents' social economic background such as types of school, experience of teacher, educational background, age and gender. The TPI was disseminated 475 school teachers and 80.6% of them were returned. Chi-square and ANOVA were used to compare and correlate groups based on age, gender, educational background, income, position and so on. The most expressed teaching perspectives in the study was nurturing, and then apprenticeship. The result of the study showed that different teaching perspectives depends on respondents' age, educational background, and level of teaching school.
