With the introduction of the national education system, the new teacher education institute has been established in 1894. The Japanese would like to influence the teacher education in Korea and in fact, the influence of the Japan was not small. But it was limited in the system and legal form of the teacher education. The actual curriculum of the teacher education was determined by the reformal will and directions of the government. In the only teacher education institute, the Hanseong normal school, the traditional confucian education han been continuing, at the same time the new western knowledge has been introduced and enlarged gradually. But the pedagogics, the original scope, have been rarely taught. The faculty of the Normal School consisted in Korean professors and foreigners. The korean professors were almost the progressive confucianists and foreigners were the Japanese advisers and American missionaries. They all were not the professionals in the teacher education.
