이 연구에서는 어린이들에게 역사를 올바르게 바라보는 자세를 함양할 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위하여 학교도서관에서 역사중심의 독서교육을 실시하고 역사중심 독서교육이 초등학생의 역사흥미에 얼마나 영향을 미치는지 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 경기도 광명시에 소재한 K초등학교 3학년 2개 학급을 대상으로 2013년 11월부터 2014년 2월까지 학교도서관에서 역사중심 독서교육을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 초등학생 3학년을 대상으로 학교도서관의 역사중심 독서교육이 역사흥미에 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났으 므로 앞으로 역사 독서교육 프로그램을 초등학교 전체 학년으로 확대할 필요가 있을 것이다.
The purpose of this study was to implement history centered reading education in school libraries and examine the effects of history centered reading education on elementary school students’ interest in history in order to provide children with opportunities to cultivate the attitude to properly look at history. To this end, history centered reading education on two classes of third-year students of K Elementary School located in Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do from November 2013 to February 2014 in the school library. A pretest of interest in history was conducted in November 2013 and a post test of interest in history conducted in February 2014. Since the results of analysis of the study indicated that the history centered reading education in the school library implemented on third-year students of elementary school affected the students’ interest in history, history reading educational programs should be expanded to all elementary school years.
