This study examined the effects of different aptitude variables, such as age, education background, experience on the field, reasons or motivations for choosing the job, on the child-care teachers' job satisfaction. The subject were 282 teachers who answered the questionnaire on 'child-care teaching aptitude' and 'job satisfaction.' The results were as follows: First, the degrees of job satisfaction were significantly different according to the age, education, experience, and motivations for the teaching job. Variables such as the classes they taught or whether the care center was accredited or not did not show any significant effects. Second, all the 7 sub-factors of child-care teaching aptitude showed a significant relationship to the job satisfaction. Third, the aptitude affected the job satisfaction significantly. Among the 7 sub-factors, sociability with children made the biggest effect on the job satisfaction. Interpersonal relationships, safety management skills for children, and positive emotionality showed significant results as well. The results above indicates that the child-care teaching aptitude and the teachers' personal variables can act on their job satisfaction.
