This study examined the effects of parental attachment and empathic ability in elementary school childern upon
school adjustment. The subjects of this study were 262 children drawn from the sixth grade in Gyeonggi province.
The results of this research were as follows : First, empathy and attachment to the formation of the attachment
relationship with parents, and school adjustment and correlated empathy higher maternal attachment, were high
school adjustability. Second, factors affecting the boys school adjustment mock confidence, empathic arousal, all
the factors that affect girls' school adaptation communicative, empathic arousal, Department of alienation was
Empathic arousal factors that affect the entire school adaptation parent confidence, wealth, alienation, parent
communication, empathy for others and form positive relationships with parents and children to be seen to act as
an important factor to children's school adjustment. Therefore suggest the necessity of a strong parent-child
relationships, parent counseling and eduaction program as well as adjustment to school life of the child in order
to improve the ability of children's empathy
