The main purpose of this study was to evaluate validity and reliability of maze CBM, which is
considered one of reading CBM measures. Especially, considering the reliability and validity of maze
CBM, this study focused on the three stage research introduced by Fuchs(2004). In this study, 44
third graders and 57 fourth graders from B elementary school in the A city were participated.
Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients were calculated to evaluate the reliability and validity
of maze CBM focusing on the first stage research. In addition, latent growth modeling was used for
the second stage research. This study showed that the reliability and validity of maze CBM at the
frist stage research were good. In terms of the second stage research, slope of maze CBM at the
third grader was not significant. For this reason, slope of maze CBM at the fourth grader was only
included for the second stage research, showing that both reliability and validity of maze CBM slope
were good. Implications on research and practice are discussed.
